Acting Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management Headquarters, Department of the Army Washington, D.C.
Ms. Diane M. Randon was designated as the Acting Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management on July 3, 2019. The ACSIM serves as the Army Senior Leaders’ military adviser and general staff advocate for modernizing and operating the Army’s worldwide infrastructure, installation support services, and Soldier-Family Programs. Appointed to the Senior Executive Service in June 2007, she has more than 33 years of federal civil service to include more than 20 years in the Comptroller career field, as well as in the Environmental Protection Agency, and Department of Defense Inspector General. Previous Senior Executive Service assignments include Director, Installation Services and Director, Resources within Office of the ACSIM, and the Director, Resources and Programs Agency, Office of Administrative Assistant.
Ms. Randon has served since October 2012 as Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management (ACSIM). The Office of the ACSIM enables the Army to train, deploy, fight, win, and reset from a secure Strategic Support Area through installation operational expertise and Soldier, Family, and Civilian advocacy critical for Total Army readiness.
The Secretary of the Army detailed Ms. Randon to serve in capacities as both the Assistant Secretary of the Army, Manpower & Reserve Affairs, and the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army, Manpower and Reserve Affairs (ASA, (MRA)) from January 2017 to January 2019. In this position, she served as the senior adviser for policy and performance oversight of human resources (military, civilian and contractor), reserve component affairs, training, readiness, mobilization, military health affairs, force structure, manpower management, equal opportunity, and equal employment opportunity.
Ms. Randon holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Old Dominion University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Syracuse University. Additionally, her education includes myriad executive level courses to include the prestigious Leadership at the Peak. She is credentialed as an executive coach and holds the Leadership Coaching for Organizational Performance Certificate.
Her awards and achievements include the Decoration for Exceptional Civilian Service, Presidential Rank Award – Meritorious, Meritorious Civilian Service Award, Leonard F. Keenan Award, Distinguished Civilian Service Award, Superior Civilian Service Award, and Commander’s Award for Civilian Service.
